Quiz

Free learning quizzes made for children who learn differently

BrightMinds quizzes help children aged 3–14 practise early learning skills at their own pace. They were designed from the ground up for children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, Down syndrome, speech delay and other learning differences, and they work just as well for any child who enjoys calm, friendly practice. Every quiz is free, and no account, email or password is needed to play.

Six subjects to choose from

  • Numbers — counting, number recognition and simple maths.
  • Letters — the alphabet, letter sounds and early phonics.
  • Animals — recognising animals and learning simple facts about them.
  • Colours — identifying and naming colours.
  • Shapes — 2D shapes and their properties.
  • Emotions — recognising and naming feelings, an important skill for many autistic children.

Four levels that follow ability, not just age

Each subject has questions at four levels: Beginner (ages 3–5), Elementary (ages 6–8), Intermediate (ages 9–11) and Advanced (ages 12–14). BrightMinds suggests a starting level from your child’s age, but you can choose a different one at any time. That matters for children whose developmental age differs from their age in years: a ten-year-old can comfortably start at Beginner and move up when they are ready.

Built to feel calm and safe

  • No timers and no penalties. Wrong answers are never punished, so there is no pressure to rush.
  • Read-aloud questions for children who are not yet reading independently.
  • Large tap targets that are easy to use on tablets and phones, in portrait or landscape.
  • Accessibility options on every page: Calm mode for lower stimulation, a dyslexia-friendly font and bigger text.
  • A consistent, friendly owl guide, so every session feels familiar and predictable.

For parents and teachers

Children can play straight away by entering just a first name and age. If you would like to follow progress over time, create a free parent account. The parent dashboard shows scores by subject, a day streak, recent badges and a full history of every session, so you can see which skills are getting easier and which need a little more practice. Teachers can use BrightMinds on classroom tablets, Chromebooks and interactive whiteboards with no installation.
